Casey Moore's Oyster House

With excellent seafood, gallons of craft brew on tap, and an occasional ghost story, this long-time Tempe establishment has entertained diners and drinkers for many years in an old house rumored to be haunted. Most come for their awesome happy-hour and oysters, though the menu is better-than-average. The bar is usually filled with locals and ASU students who congregate around the old house sipping on beer pints. It's located in the historic Mitchell Park neighborhood and oftentimes people say that they can still see a ghostly figure dancing on the attic floor.

Brat Haus

Located in Downtown Scottsdale, Brat Haus is extremely popular among the locals for its welcoming vibe, prompt service and as its name implies, the Brats. The restaurant also serves traditional schnitzel, artisan sausages, Belgian fries and their house made Poutine is one of the best in the entire Phoenix metro area. Of course, one would be remiss not to speak about the beer; the selection presents an array of beers that could be found at any restaurant in Belgium or Germany. With styles like Tripel, Doppel, Dunkel and Gueuze, the suds accompany the food perfectly. Additionally, the outdoor patio is a wonderful place to have meal, so if you are craving for good German fare and great beer, then this place won't disappoint you.

Goldie's Neighborhood Sports Cafe

Get your fill of the big game on five 10-feet (3.048 meters) screens while chomping down wood-fired pizza and beer. Sit at a table in this comfortable family run eatery or belly up to the bar for mixed drinks, beer or wine. Grab a willing victim; then talk them into a game of darts or pool. There is shuffleboard for the adults and a game room for the younger ones. Bring your whole family down for a reunion if you like, as large groups are welcome at Goldie's.

The Monastery

The Monastery is located near Falcon Field in far Northeast Mesa and it's a superb place to relax with friends and family. One of the main attractions of The Monastery is the large outdoor space that comes complete with volleyball court, horseshoes and a fire-pit. Another outdoor offering is a Monastery tradition: grills for you to cook your own food on. If you're not in the mood to do your own cooking, they also have a full service food menu to go along with the full bar. Even though its a pub, The Monastery is child friendly, as long as the kids stay out of the upstairs bar and within sight of their parent (and the kids are out by 8p).

RA Sushi

Whether you're in the mood for sushi or want some Japanese classics like Teriyaki, at RA Sushi Bar guests will find something. Sample the very popular Viva Las Vegas Roll, which is crab and cream cheese rolled in rice or the Ra Chips and Salsa, which is a blend of spicy tuna served with seaweed chips. Sushi and sashimi are always perennial favorites and the sake list is quite extensive. With four other locations around the Phoenix metro area, the restaurant is also convenient.

Postino Annex

With several locations in the Valley as well as one in Colorado, Postino Winecafe brings simple food and wine to the masses. In this case the crowds are usually filled with Arizona State University students since the Annex is located right across the street from campus. On the menu diners will find the popular Bruschetta selections which include examples such as Brie & Apples with a Fig Spread, Burrata, Bacon & Arugula, Ricotta with Dates & Pistachios as well as many more. Panini, charcuterie, salads and soup round out the rest of the menu and don't forget, every day from opening to 5pm Postino's has an amazing happy hour with mini pitchers of craft beer and wine by the glass at superb prices.
