DSL is installed and running decently »/quali ··· l/905481 .

I signed up under the whole 'Free XBox or PS/2' promo. As of yesterday the status on the TAC indicates ALL 8-9 steps are completed...I have been billed.

When do I get this email about locating said gaming platform?

About the only thing better right now than a nice new DSL connection would be a nice new DSL connection into my nice new XBox.

I have yet to do that today
(we do have a 25 day trial period)

but It seems damn fine to me
so I'll probably online credit card pay the balance today

My $99 modem refund I already mailed middle of last week

Anyone know whats the deal with this? I have seen multiple people being charged oddly.

$381.81 for the ps2 minus the $199.99 discount for a total of $219.98?

What the heck is up with that? Something goofy on ebgames.com or what?

While I am still patiently awaiting SE's response to my query on where my coupon is, I have looked around and gathered some details.

Basically, what SpeakEasy is offering is a free XBox or PS/2 for anyone who signs a one year contract with them. This is being offered in cooperation with EBonline.

You simply go to their site, order the RIGHT combo (there are several PS2 and XBox combos to choose from, but the right one should be right at 200$.), enter in a coupon code provided by Speakeasy and then wait for it to be shipped to you.

I suspect that the people you are talking about got the wrong kit (one with 2 controllers, etc...) or added additional things like games, controllers, memory cards, etc...

Someone correct me if I am wrong here...please....

Found my code before they even sent me my email..

Login to the speakeasy.net myspeakeasy page with your account.

Go to the menu on the left hand side to Your Services, and click on account summary.

I found my code in the right hand area it said "XBox Promotion (activated 11/04/2002)" the code started with a "I" and was in the box next to it.

Went to Ebgames.com and picked out the xbox. clicked continue with cart and put in my coupon code. it said free xbox ps2 promo and credited me 199.99 off.

cost me 5.99 to have it shipped 2nd day ups.

I can't wait.. WOOT

Finaly just got a response explaining how this works.

1 - The account must go all the way thru their system first. I show a 'official' Speakeasy install date of 11/8/02...even tho my circuit has been up since Friday. As of right now, it looks like I am stuck on that till the 8th.

2 - You must receive your first bill first.

Once these two occur, they SHOULD send you a code via email to redeem for the XBox.

For those of you left wondering how you obtain it...I hope this helps.

I have been having the same problem with Speakeasy's Xbox promo code. I have been activated for over a week now. I have received an email about what I will be billed. Yet I have not been billed through support.

After speaking with Speakeasy Sales I was given more than one explanation at the end of which I was told they had simply "run out" of promo codes and were waiting on new ones and that nothing could be done until they'd received those.

In the past, Speakeasy has normally been very quick about billing me. On this particular issue (not sure if the xbox promo has anything to do with it) but I still haven't seen a bill even though I've been activated for pretty much over a week now.

I was hoping to get my code and have my xbox shipped before the Christmas holiday rush but if this keeps up I doubt I'll see anything til the new year. :/

I was going nuts getting Verizon to shorten my loop length so I could get DSL. Finally succeeded, but at one point a Verizon guy asks me, "So why is it you don't want Verizon to be your ISP?".

"Because I'm getting a free PS2 from SpeakEasy".

It shut him down sooo cold. Even he was impressed.
