University of Illinois plant pathologists said the disease is called northern leaf blight, and may be serious in some areas in east central Illinois. Hot dry weather will prevent its spread, the pathologists said. Oats went along with corn in 8 mild manner, but wheat and soybeans had difficulty making progress. Light export business failed to help much, wheat was under new crop hedging pressure and the beans were under the influence of a lower vegetable oil and hog market. Estimated receipts were: Wheat, 15 carlots: corn, 153; oats, three; rye, 12: barley, 25, and soybeans, two.
