Russell "Springer" Wayne Moore

Obituaries, June 7, 2024 (7)

Russell "Springer" Wayne Moore, a cherished son, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2024, at the age of 62, in his hometown of Kokomo, IN. Born on March 26, 1962, to Elnora Kay White-Taylor and the late Wayne Moore, Springer was a lifelong resident of Kokomo, where he cultivated a life filled with love, passion, and generosity.

A proud graduate of Hayworth High School, Russell went on to work in production manufacturing at Atkore, where he was respected by his colleagues for his dedication and work ethic. His commitment to his profession was matched only by his devotion to his family and his passion for life's simple pleasures.

Springer's love for the open road was well-known, as he could often be found riding his beloved motorcycle across the country, creating lasting memories with his brothers. These road trips were among his most treasured experiences, offering him a sense of freedom and adventure that he cherished deeply.

In addition to his love for motorcycles, Russell shared a special bond with his son, Nick Moore, through their shared passion for hunting. The father-son duo spent many seasons in the great outdoors, a tradition that brought them closer and provided countless stories that Nick will carry with him always.

Springer was the loving brother to Jack Allen Taylor, the late Larry Joe Causey, Ginger Ann Longfellow, and Carolyn Elizabeth (Dan) Sumner. His role as a brother was one he took to heart, offering support, laughter, and guidance throughout the years. His presence in their lives was a source of comfort and joy, and he will be profoundly missed.

Those who knew Russell would describe him as a loving individual, whose passion for the people and activities he cared about was evident in everything he did. His generosity knew no bounds, as he often went out of his way to help others, expecting nothing in return. Springer's legacy is one of kindness, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to his loved ones.

Russell's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him, but his spirit will live on through the memories he created with his family and friends. He is survived by his mother, Elnora Kay White-Taylor; his son, Nick Moore; his brother, Jack Allen Taylor; his sisters, Ginger Ann Longfellow and Carolyn Elizabeth (Dan) Summner; and a community of friends who were touched by his warmth and compassion.

As we bid farewell to Russell "Springer" Moore, we are reminded of the impact one life can have on so many. His story is one of unwavering love, enduring friendships, and a zest for life that will continue to inspire those he leaves behind. Springer's journey may have come to an end, but the path he traveled will forever be marked by the love and laughter he shared with each of us.

In keeping with his wishes, a private memorial service will be held to honor Russell's life. His family takes comfort in knowing that Springer is now reunited with his late father, Wayne Moore and they find solace in the belief that his spirit will always ride free, like the countless miles he traveled on his motorcycle, with the wind at his back and the sun on his face.
