Illustrations enlarged Io show exquisite detail Diamond Solitaire Ring Mrs will will succeed but a known fact that waiting to marry hurt Here in Scottsboro the single population is growing Industries such as Bellefon te Revere and others are attracting singles from out of town and out of state More native singles are remaining in Scottsboro to work Others divorced or widowed acquire their single status after set tling here However Scottsboro and many other towns of its size and distance from a friajor metropolitan area is family oriented Where does this leave single persons whether merely trying to live from day to day or looking forward to marriage and family? or those who resent their single status and who refuse to take advantage of the op portunities it affords Scott sboro is merely a spring board to what will hopefully be a better life somewhere else perhaps a large city or those who are com fortable with single living Scottsboro is a place with new people to meet and plenty of outdoor recreation One can always travel to Huntsville Diamond Earrings This building at the corner of Scott and Martin Streets is the new meeting place fgr the singles fellowship widowed persons persons single and those never could discuss Mrs Marie Dehart of Rosalie and William (Bud) McCrary of Scottsboro an nounce their engagement and forthcoming marriage The bride elect is daughter of Mr and Oswald Pike of Ider prospective groom is the son of the late Mr and Mrs Will McCrary of Scottsboro The wedding will be an event of June 2 at 5 pm at riendship Baptist Church near Rosalie All friends and relatives are invited to at tend group sponsored by the irst Baptist Church (Photo by Carmen Wann) Scottsboro City Hall Auditorium25 fee includes all art supplies or information and registration Call 228 4408 or 574 6552 Chattanooga Birmingham or Atlanta for other ac tivities But on the average the single newcomer or the newly singled person in Scottsboro is looking for ways to cope with single life Up until recently the single person was on his own There were churches and civic club to join but again these generally featured more couples and families At the irst Baptist Church of Scottsboro single adults began meeting a year and a half ago on Sunday mornings Steve Hall minister of music for the church began teaching a Sunday School class for those singles not in college (There is also a class for singles in college whether at Northeast or home from one of the universities) Within six months the group began meeting on a weeknight at homes At the weeknight meetings which began to at tract more and more people regardless of their church af filiations divorced parents married problems and share ex periences informally Recently the church acquired a building at 215 Scott Street (corner of Scott and Martin Streets) The group which averages 20 30 people meets there on Thur sdays at 7 pm The members are hoping to enlarge the group with single persons high school graduates and older of any faith hoping to expand our ministries now that we have the new said Steve Hall hoping to start some new Some of the programs suggested may include discussion groups for the widowed age 45 and up and single parents also hope to use the church recreational facilities and perhaps organize a riday night open i house as a gathering place for said Hall At present members plan a Lorch Budget Terms Makes i It Easy To I Oivn Diamonds!
